Pic of the day: OK, so I eventually did it. Put on a shirt just to take a picture. It's not like I need a shirt in this heat. It itches.

Quick update

Not a whole lot to tell. The summer has not entirely retreated. It has dug into its trenches just around here, although luckily only the black clouds from the battlefield drift over us, not the fire and the noise. Further north of here, from around my childhood home in Sogn & Fjordane and northward past Trondheim, water has poured down in such quantities as to wash away earlier records. Not to mention washing away roads, camping trailers etc, but no people from what I hear. I find that kind of weather exciting, but I guess I should be thankful that we don't have the property damage here.

I have done less exciting things, but still enough to keep me engrossed. (Well, not counting work.) I have spent most of the day on Gaia Online, the forum with dress-up dolls. I've got a striped shirt! In the game, that is. I have a lot more clothes in real life, but for some reason I don't just go and put on one after another of them and take pictures of myself. That is kinda weird when you think about it.

But I like a place where everyone is young and big-eyed and where girls with cat-ears (or fox ears and bushy tail) welcome you with cookies and muffins. It's kinda like a preview of Paradise, don't you think? Supposedly we won't get in there unless we become like children. I doubt there will be cat ears, but there are sure to be other delights. I wish to go there. But not anytime soon. ^_^*

I did take some time off to play Morrowind, lest I entirely lose touch with my current character. He is a Summoner, my second of that class (my personal invention!) and the first on this fast machine. Whoa. This is a class that summons ghosts and daedra to deal damage to his enemies, while he defends with shield and armor. It's pretty heavy going with the Dark Brotherhood assassins (which I did not have last summer – they are part of the Tribunal add-on). There are two of them now, with enchanted adamant shortswords. Luckily my character is born with spell absorption, so using magic weapons on him is a bad idea! Anyway, that's pretty much it.

Oh, and today is bill paying day for me. I've programmed Cassie to beep in the evening to remind me. I see you can now get a handheld with bluetooth and 128MB RAM for the same price ... Cassie has 32 MB so it's rather limited how many MP3 I can play. But I'll hold out. Things are bound to get even better or even cheaper next season. And I'm pretty satisfied as long as I can read my e-books and write half my journal with the stylus. I'm sure if we don't crash the planet, in a few years the handheld computer will be always connected to the Internet with broadband and I can watch anime movies on it on my commute - if I'm still alive, of course. In which case I will no doubt still be single and still play role playing games.
