I’m only reading this on the 10th (for me, the 11th for you), and wish I’d known! This sort of thing scares me. Thank goodness nothing appears to have been badly wrong (at least things settled down?), but if it HAD been and there was nobody to take you to the ER, or, God forbid, you hadn’t been able to call by yourself . . . Argh. Again, the “having friends on another continent” thing has its big drawbacks! You may have to retire and move to Texas so we can look after you!
Or you guys could study engineering and move to Norway. ^_^
I don’t think living alone is much of a drawback in the current situation. This time (and last time too) I was out walking, and I would probably have been doing that alone anyway.
