Supergirl DVD cover

Pic of the day: What has Supergirl got to do with Itland family values? And who is the mysterious PrismaGrrl? Why is this not coherent? Don't hesitate ...

Postpone NOW!

I have my principles. And one traditional principle in our family - you may almost call it a family value - is this: "Do not postpone until tomorrow that which can be postponed to the day after. Or preferably to next year."

What else would we do? We are all somewhat gifted with creativity in one form or another. So we will always have more ideas than we can possibly make real. It makes sense then to use some of this creativity to postpone, delay, or otherwise wait with things that really ought to be done.

I looked in my wardrobe for shirts today. There must definitely be a goodly number of them in the undefined mass of clothes that are waiting to be washed. Because there sure are few whole, clean ones. Luckily I got new shirts for Christmas; and there are still a couple others I haven’t unpacked yet either. I probably bough one or two of them myself; it would be such a shame not to use them ever. And then I can wait another week or two with washing the shirts. They don’t exactly smell, or at least not much.

I got two DVD’s I intend to see really soon now. One is Prince of Egypt, the animated movie about Moses. You may remember how much I loved the sequel, which was ironically about Joseph (ironically, because Joseph lived like 400 years earlier). Most reviews say that Prince of Egypt was the better. I expect to see it several times and learn the songs, like I did with King of Dreams. (Then again, Joseph reminds me a lot more of me - at least until I have seen the other movie.) On a vaguely different note, I have the original (I think) movie about Supergirl on DVD too. I don’t expect to view that repeatedly. Once or twice a year at best. But it does have some sentimental value. (I used to refer to my best friend as Supergirl in the journal until she told me to change the name to Superwoman.) Anyway, the DVD player is in the other computer, the one that doesn’t work well on the Net, and definitely does not allow online games like Dark Age of Camelot. I would have to unplug all the other stuff and actually switch the boxes, and then switch them back. Another day, perhaps. Not today.

A couple interesting fragrances for me in the nose review queue: Extreme by Bvlgari (presumably pronounced Bulgari) is rather hyped. But it might still be good. Is it, or are you just paying for an expensive marketing campaign and a name? And D&G (Dolce & Gabbana) Masculine, is it really? And Sander for men, have you ever heard about that before? Anyone can slap a "pour homme" on their perfume, but which among them are worthy to be worn by manly men such as myself? Find out in a future entry here at Chaos Node! Sometime. Maybe.

But for now I have to postpone the rest of the entry. You see, I postponed yesterdays entry, so I could roleplay my paladin character. Then I postponed sleep so I could write my journal. When that was over with, it was 4 in the night. I realized that there was no way the alarm would get me up if I went to bed at that time, so I decided to postpone sleep till the afternoon and go early to work so I could go early home.

It isn't that easy to stay awake from 4 onward in the morning, so I decided to liven it up a bit by playing a brand new character I had thought up: PrismaGrrl, the multicolored female theurgist. Actually I did not get as far as to theurgist, she is still just an elementalist. But I did spend the morning that way. I'll have to postpone the full report on this until tomorrow, at least.

The short of it is that PrismaGrrl joined an interesting group, and I postponed going to work so I could play. I did go to work eventually, and earlier than average for me. But hardly early by any other measure. When I came home, I postponed sleep. Now it is midnight, I haven't slept more than a sitting nap for ca 40 hours, excuse the spelling. I don't think I can postpone sleep much longer. Watch out for full report tomorrow. Or sometime. Perhaps.
