Spring leaves

Pic of the day: Spring leaves. Actually, it doesn't leave, it arrives. But you know what I mean.

Nice spring day

Today wasn't bad at all, despite some lack of sleep. (It helps when it is voluntary.) And this morning, spring came! Yes, indeed. The raw chill that has lingered right until yesterday is gone. Now I could walk outdoors in my indoors clothes. Indoors I could have walked without clothes at all, when I came home in the afternoon. Kept my boxers on, though. Thought you all wanted to know. ^-^

Leaves and grass are growing at breakneck speed now. Sometimes I think the Nordic spring could have inspired that famous science fiction story I read when I was a kid. I have forgotten both the name and the author, but it was some guy traveling to the moon in a sphere that repelled gravity, I think. There he found a fantastic biosphere which woke up with the beginning of the moon's day (which lasts like two weeks of our time) and all things grew like wildfire. And then the people who lived there came out, and adventure happened. That did not interest me at all, but the fast growing plants fascinated me.

I've seen spring come even more suddenly than this. One day it came when I was at work. I wore a thick jacket for the cold when I went to the bus in the morning; when I came home in the afternoon, it was hot even in my shirt. And the forest sometimes turns green in a couple days.

I've snuck in a bit more playing Dark Age of Camelot. It took a day or two, but sure enough, I've met some friendly Hibernians. And just like in the stereotype, three of them were husband and wife and daughter. (OK, the daughter is not stereotypical Hibernia, but the husband and wife thing is. Hibernia is the fun, family-friendly realm.) I've joined a guild with lots of newbies. Sadly, it is almost deserted until just before bedtime. Americans should do something about their day rhythm. They should change it to match Norway, intellectual capital of the world. Ahem. Why follow the sun when you could follow me?

Anyway, I have determined the ultimate class in DAoC. But then again, I have done so before, with at least two different classes. ^-^ More about that in a later gamejournal, if any.

The doctor warned me that if I put on ten more kilo (20 pounds, I think) I would almost certainly get diabetes. I have not regained all of my weight but some of it over the last year and a half. Frankly I don't think that has anything to do with what I asked about, namely my wrist. But that is coming along decently too. I take a small dose of paracetamol each workday, not enough for painkilling effect but enough to reduce inflammation. I stretch my fingers regularly, and bend my wrist. And I don't overdo typing on the bad keyboard at work. And I'm not going to do it here either.

I do some of my writing on Cassie the Pocket PC too. It is slow going, but it uses different muscles from when I touch-type. I've started on yet another chapter on my second online novel (the first died a natural death a couple years ago). It may seem to the casual observer that I went a bit over the top with the scantily clad boy on boy hugfest in the latest chapter (not that there is anything wrong with that if you are pure of heart) but it's not a trend. It is a humorous fanservice to the scary yaoi fangirls in the community that is my main target audience. I fully intend to write in depth about scary yaoi fangirls some day, and the link to the paradox of Sodom. But not today. Today is too nice a day for such.

And besides, today just ended.
